What we are looking for:

Monocle is looking for a Financial Manager to join our internal finance team managing the finances and financial operations of a growing International consulting group firm. This position reports directly to the Finance Partner and Group CFO.

The Financial Manager will be responsible for a broad range of financial, reporting, compliance, and operational activities across the group.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing, reviewing, and analysing annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and management reports across all group entities

  • Reviewing daily bank reconciliations, payments, and expense processes across the group

  • Overseeing the full payroll function

  • Preparing the group's consolidated annual financial statements

  • Managing and reviewing the monthly and annual B-BBEE audit process

  • Coordinating and managing the external audit process across the group

  • Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and overseeing fixed asset management

  • Reviewing monthly and quarterly VAT and PAYE submissions for all group companies, ensuring timely filing with the relevant tax authorities

  • Preparing provisional and corporate income tax packs for submission to the relevant tax authorities

  • Implementing and strengthening internal control systems as the group grows and evolves

  • Supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the group

  • Responding to ad hoc financial queries and information requests

  • Conducting international tax and regulatory research where required

Additional responsibilities include, but is not limited to the following:

  • Drive consistency, accuracy and timely reporting across the group in a high paced environment

  • Engaging and communicating effectively with partners and senior stakeholders

  • Managing and developing team members effectively where applicable

The successful candidate must:

  • Have a CA(SA) qualification (newly qualified)

  • Have strong (Advanced) Microsoft Excel skills

  • Desire to enter a career in Financial Management

  • Analytical, attention to detail, performance driven with a passion to succeed and grow

  • Excellent communication skills
