What we are looking for:
Monocle is looking for a mid-level Digital Designer to support our dynamic marketing team and form part of delivering the full end-to-end marketing and advertising offering to a broad range of Monocle requirements and stakeholders.
This role will be to partner Monocles Design Manager while our Digital Designer is on maternity leave. We are ideally looking for someone who can work part time for Monocle from around the middle of September to the first half of February. The candidate would preferably be able to work within our hybrid structure of two days a week in our Sandton office, and three days at home, although we will consider fully remote candidates. The candidate wont be expected to work when Monocle closes its offices from 15 December to 5 January.
The candidate would work within the broader marketing team to create compelling, innovative and professional content across Monocles internal and digital communication channels. You will, alongside our Design Manager, function as part of our marketing team to develop and execute creative concepts to further Monocle's brand identity and communication objectives.
As a Digital Designer you should have a passion for building brands through design, an innovative mindset, strong attention to detail, comprehensive understanding of digital marketing channels and keen communication capabilities. As a Digital Designer at Monocle your main tasks and responsibilities will include supporting the marketing team to:
Develop social media content for the Monocle brand.
Assist with visual updates to our website.
Build compelling comms to attract South Africas top talent to Monocle, working alongside our talented People & Culture team.
Support business development and research by designing brand and thought leadership content in a way that puts us ahead of the big traditional consultancies.
Provide professional internal communications that makes our people feel proud to be part of the company.
Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute creative concepts that align with Monocle's brand identity and messaging.
Help develop Monocles culture by shaping how our colleagues perceive the brand.

The Ideal Digital Designer:
Holds a relevant design degree from a reputable tertiary institution.
3 - 6 years of design work experience
Hands-on experience creating social media content for a corporate brand.
Content creation expertise.
Strong in
Photoshop / InDesign
Premiere Pro / After Effects
Has a strong portfolio of work showcasing a variety of digital design projects.
Strong attention to detail, communication and project management abilities.
A team player able to effectively function and deal with stakeholders across the business.
Creative and proactive.
An interest in banking and insurance.
